National Geographic has always been committed to igniting the spirit of exploration within us, and its mission is to illuminate the connection between humans and nature. To further promote this idea and purpose, National Geographic has been hosting the 'NAT GEO RUN' event in Taiwan every year since 2013, advocating a healthy lifestyle and the protection of our planet. The 2025 event, which was just successfully held in Taiwan, attracted about 20,000 participants and raised awareness and enthusiasm for environmental protection. This autumn, 'NAT GEO RUN' will make its debut in Hong Kong on October 26th, with AK@MIRROR also taking part in person to support the journey of caring for the Earth and inspiring everyone's connection and love for our planet.
The 'NAT GEO RUN 2025 Hong Kong Station' will be held in Sunny Bay, offering 6KM, 4KM, and 2KM races for runners aged 5 and above of all levels to run for the Earth! After the race, runners will receive a finisher's medal made of 100% recycled plastic from re-edit lab, a local eco-friendly upcycling brand. Runners are invited to join the carnival after the race to celebrate, participate in themed workshops to DIY water bottle straps, challenge game booths, and take photos with the classic yellow-framed National Geographic-themed backdrop, capturing memorable moments of caring for the Earth with family and friends. Registration for all races will open on September 4, 2025, and those who successfully register on the first day will receive an early bird gift, a limited-edition camping cutlery set, as an encouragement for their passion for sports and the Earth when they pick up their race pack.
The first event is held in Sunny Bay with a scenic course connecting runners to nature.
The 6KM, 4KM, and 2KM races of the 'NAT GEO RUN 2025 Hong Kong Station', held for the first time in Hong Kong, all start at Sunny Bay Park next to the MTR Sunny Bay Station. The course runs along the Sunny Bay waterfront, with the blue skies and white clouds, green mountains, and clear waters of Lantau Island cheering the runners on. The 4KM and 6KM runners will also pass by the Yin澳sh灘earby, where they can see the unique scenery of the wooden posts left in the sea from the old wooden pond. As runners breathe harder and deeper as they accelerate, they will feel a closer connection to nature and sense the Earth's care and support for their bodies, further understanding the importance of caring for our planet. All participating runners will receive a race pack containing a runner's tee, a cooling towel, a shoe bag, and a bib number. Upon completion of the race, all runners will receive a finisher's medal made of 100% recycled plastic as a token of encouragement and remembrance.
Registration opens on September 4th. Those who successfully register on the first day will receive a limited-edition camping cutlery set. Bring discarded plastic water bottles with caps to the race pack pickup for upcycling into finisher's medals, giving them extra meaning.
